Why Did the Idea of Revenge Against Guru Drona Not Feel Right to Draupadi?

Even after defeating the Kauravas in battle, he had a second opportunity to make amends yet the intoxication of victory carried his pride to its peak, and even then he did not ask for forgiveness

Drona's Compassion and His Mercy Toward Drupad The most significant fact is that after defeating Drupad in battle, Drona did not sentence him to death. Drupad himself admitted that he repeatedly begged Drona for death, wishing for a warrior's honourable end rather than a life of humiliation. Yet Drona, out of friendship, compassion, and mercy, spared his life and even returned half his kingdom. This incident makes clear that Drona did not act out of vengeance he demonstrated forgiveness instead.
